Astana Piano Passion 2019: Special Prizes

At the closing of the Jubilee V International Festival of Classical Music and Сompetition for Young Pianists «Astana Piano Passion», which ended on May 18, 2019, in the capital of Kazakhstan, the jury members presented special prizes to the winners:

The artistic director of the festival — People’s Artist of Russia Denis Matsuev presented prizes to a group of laureates: Petr Akulov, Adrian Romoff, Daria Podorojnova, Zahar Vnutskih Daniil Nemov, Fedor Orlov;
Xinchen Wang received as a gift a trip to his maestro’s hometown to participate in the Stars of Baikal International Festival (Irkutsk, Russian Federation). Korzun Agafya and Zahar Vnutskih will go to the summer camp of the International Charitable Foundation «New Names» (Suzdal, Russian Federation).

The director of the Central Music School at the Moscow Conservatory Valery Piassetski invited three semifinalists of the сontest Rasul Abdugulov, Nikolay Biryukov, Konstantin Tsygankov to continue their piano studies in Moscow. The children are provided with privileges at the entrance exams in the Central Music School. 40 (forty) points will be added to their estimates upon admission for successful participation in Astana Piano Passion 2019.

The Directorate of the State Opera and Ballet Theater «Astana Opera» handed over certificates to the two participants for the organization of concerts. Aliya Assanova and Petr Akulov will perform on the main stage of Kazakhstan. A solo concert will be organized in the chamber hall of the theater for Aliya, and Peter will perform in a grand concert hall along with the Astana Opera symphony orchestra.

Participants were not left without special prizes from the jury members from Europe and Asia. Martin Engstroem invited Daria Podorojnova and Adrian Romoff to take part in the educational program of the Verbier Festival 2019 (Switzerland), and Professor Li Ming Qiang organizes concert performances for Xinchen Wang, Petr Akulov, Shang-En Pai in Hong Kong.

The public foundation Accordi di Astana (the organizer of the festival-competition) presented awards in two nominations.

Aliya Assanova (Kazakhstan) and the smallest participant in the competition Agafya Korzun (Russia) received it in the nomination the «Opening of the festival».

The prize for the best performance of the Kazakhstan composer’s work was presented by Petr Akulov and Kevin Chen.
